Abstract

in order to evaluate the role of inherited variation in GRIN1, BDNF genes in human bipolar disorder, a correlation study using 4 single nucleotide polymorphisms with GRIN1, BDNF genes(2 SNPs in every gene respectively) by means of TaqMan was performed in 100 unrelated cases subjects and 50 control subjects. Significant result was obtained that the SNPs in GRIN1 gene are related to the BP(p<0.05 ). But the SNPs in BDNF gene have no statistical significance. The result has proved again that the GRIN1 gene confers susceptibility to bipolar disorder.
