Exploration of the hidden layers of genome

摘要:
近年来,随着基因组研究的深入,遗传学家逐渐认识到隐藏在DNA序列之中及之外多个层次的基因组信息,它们与编码蛋白的基因一样,在生物体生长、发育中起重要的作用。本文拟从非编码RNA、DNA甲基化和组蛋白共价修饰三个层面介绍这方面的研究进展。Abstract: In recant years, geneticists have been exploring the less visible parts of genome more thoroughly. They are coming to realize that these much more layers of genomic information, distinct from the protein-coding genes, connect in surprisingly deep and potent ways to growth and development in the high eukaryotes. This article reviews a number of startling observations about the extent of non-protein-coding RNA transcriptions、DNA methylation and covalent histone modifications in the complex organisms.
